So the lovely people over at twothousand introduced this exhibition bemoaning the fact that we’re never nostalgic about the right now. Well of course, that’s kind of the point I guess. Is there a word for feeling nostalgic about the present? One that’s not quite deja vu? A word for afternoons that already feel like light washed photographs. Wearing your mother’s long wine coloured skirt (dip dyed in seawater), a blood blister forming on your middle finger because you’ve been playing frisbee for hours.
Because there should be. A word for it, that is. In the meantime, there’s Marc Hundley’s exhibition at Darren Knight Gallery in Waterloo – he’s taken things, words and images and soaked them in nostalgia especially for you.
